I got tired of babysitting Frankenstein monsters of MCPs and a bunch of point solutions to increase observability across my company. And after speaking with hundreds of other founders, I realized that as their companies approach product-market fit and fly by it, the duct-taped things we put in place in the early days to understand the business become very impractical.
Yes, most of us have the know-how to put all these things together. But they are truly operational hacks that don't scale and, more importantly, take our attention away from the things that truly matter, which can be boiled down to building and selling product as an early-stage startup.
What we're truly going for here is a very practical way to have an operating model of the company that automatically builds and updates itself. It knows the company, all of its processes, goals, and priorities, and autonomously helps us find visibility into the critical parts of the company. That turns into operational intelligence for us to make better decisions, without having to go find what we want to know, and without all this hacky tinkering. We want an appliance, to be very honest.
And we see this as step number one. There's an inclination to jump into autonomous execution. But this is not about task completion or workflow automation. We truly want to build an operating model of a company, and we strongly believe that begins by establishing an accurate representation of what's transpiring. Observability comes first, and that's where we are: a high-quality observability approach that then yields a path to autonomous execution. But execution at a higher altitude, not task completion.
